The design of a Biddeford Starbucks blended classic New England qualities with the mature chain’s established style.

While working closely with corporate did not allow total freedom, design modifications were made to keep the building in touch with its surroundings. The typical plaster exterior was replaced with wood siding and slatted metal canopies over storefront windows maintained the brand’s contemporary look while providing a buffer against direct sunlight. The tight 1,000-square-foot space became a popular hub for locals and visitors that reflects well within the neighborhood.
